A Voice in the Moral Storm

In These Times with Rabbi Ammi Hirsch: Zibby Owens

Many Jews have struggled to find the right words — to explain what it means to be Jewish at a time of rising antisemitism and renewed questions about identity and belonging.

My guest today created a book that does exactly that.

Zibby Owens is the editor of the powerful anthology, "On Being Jewish Now," which gathers 75 writers, thinkers and cultural voices reflecting on what Jewish identity feels like.

The founder and CEO of Zibby Media and host of the beloved podcast, "Totally Booked," Zibby has built one of the country's most vibrant literary communities — from publishing to podcasting to her own bookshop here in New York City.

Zibby is also a mother of four — with two heading to college — and like all Jewish mothers, she worries.

I hope you’ll tune in to hear — or watch — our conversation wherever you get your podcasts.
