Peace In The Middle East

In These Times with Rabbi Ammi Hirsch: Jason D. Greenblatt

Peacemaking is difficult work, especially in the Middle East. To uproot decades of entrenched animosity, even when the tangible benefits are so clear — truly it takes grit, determination and creativity...

The Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and later Morocco and Sudan, broke the dam of Arab and Muslim rejection of Israel and marked what we hope will be the dawn of a warm and friendly peace.

Today I'm pleased to welcome one of the main architects of the Abraham Accords. Appointed by President Donald Trump in 2017 as special representative for international negotiations, Jason D. Greenblatt joins me to discuss how the administration's failed attempts to broker peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians led to a different kind of peace for the region.

I hope you'll tune in and join me for this intimate conversation wherever you get your podcasts.
